Carer Support Services, Bendigo Health
Carer Support Services (CSS) provide respite, general support, and information to families of people with a disability. We encourage you to phone CSS to ask for individual respite. Their role is to provide temporary respite, so you will remain on their books for a period of 3 months. However, if after that three month period you need respite again, all you have to do is phone again and CSS will reopen your file. BAAG members are encouraged to phone and ask for respite. They won’t know our needs if we don’t tell them!
CSS also have a Young Carers Program. This is suitable for school aged siblings who help look after the family member who has an ASD. Phone Chris Slattery 1800 068 978

Interchange is a non-profit, community organisation that provides respite support to families affected by disability. Offer a range of programs and respite opportunities for people living in the Loddon Mallee area with a disability. Our clients come from diverse walks of life and have varying levels of support need. We offer services to many children, but also to adults. Often, we run camps during the school holidays for kids groups, teenager groups and adults. We’ve been to many different places, including the Grampians, the beach, Melbourne trips and the Murray River. Sometimes run short, day programs around Bendigo and these might run after school, on Saturdays or during the school holidays. Our groups do fantastic activities like ten pin bowling, swimming, fishing, as well as day trips out of Bendigo.
