Exciting Changes to Social Groups!

Smaller Groups
Wide range of social activities

Choice & Control to achieve your Goals

In order to provide more choice and control to participants of our Adult and Youth Social Groups we are making a few changes….

Rather than nominating events from a set quarterly timetable, we will now be presenting options to you on a fortnightly basis.

And instead of events being held predominantly on a Friday evening, social activities will be held during the day, weekdays and weekends depending on demand.

Groups will be smaller allowing you to attend activities of your interest, socialise with friends and work towards achieving your individual goals.

So put your thinking caps on, and let us know what sorts of social activities you would like to do?  Perhaps fishing, sporting events, cooking, painting, music, swimming gardening and of course social group favourites such as bowling, Jumpz, movies and more!  Email your suggestion today!

Jarrod’s Sydney Sightseeing and AFL

Jarrod went to Sydney recently to watch his beloved Bombers take on the Swans at the SCG.

All was going well for Jarrod until the Bombers were beaten by a single point… after the final siren!

All was not lost though, as Jarrod and Community Facilitator Karen went on a fabulous sight-seeing tour of Sydney and it’s magnificent harbour.

Stevie’s Sewing Weekend

One June weekend Stevie had some support with Carmel.

From a local fabric shop Stevie chose some fabric and also selected a pattern from Carmel’s collection.  The goal to make some nice warm pyjamas!

Stevie had a fantastic time assisting Carmel to operate the sewing machine by pressing the pedal.

Their combined effort  created some toasty looking PJ’s that are sure to keep Stevie warm on these cold winter nights!

For anyone interested in Handcycling

Paralympian and national champion handcyclist Michael Taylor will be hosting an informal information session on the sport and his achievements.

Michael Taylor took up the sport of handcycling after a car accident in 2003 left him in a wheelchair. While he was undergoing rehabilitation Michael was introduced to cycling using a handcycle and since then has qualified for two Paralympics, represented Australia in world championships and competed in several countries.
