I Can Network and Camps – for Teens and Young Adults – applications for March Camp closing 25th February

I Can Camps

The I Can Network (a movement led by young people on the Autism Spectrum and empowering young people on the Autism Spectrum to say “I Can” to life’s opportunities) are running several Autism camps during the year at the Doxa Youth Camp near Malmsbury.

This includes:

  • A young adults camp (13-15 March) – applications close 25th February
  • Two teens camps for ages 15 -18 (1-3 May and 11-13 September)

The camps involve a range of team-building activities, as well as motivational talks and small group discussion. The camps are led by people on the Spectrum and a majority of the volunteers are also on the Spectrum.

Daniel Giles from Bendigo had the pleasure of attending the Young Adults Camp and volunteering on the Teens Camp last year and says it was amazing seeing the confidence grow in young people on the spectrum during these camps. Daniel also built up his confidence in his mentoring relationship and especially enjoyed motivating others to live life to the full.
